The latest fruit of the partnership between Porcelanosa and Gruppo B&T has been the integration of Projecta’s Ikon Plus digital printer into production lines for tile formats up to 600 by 1,500mm. This cutting-edge technology is designed to deliver precision and quality.

Advanced mechanics combined with Seiko printheads is said to ensure outstanding definition, even on textured surfaces. The kit also combines performance and versatility, delivering high colour intensity and exceptional results for both decorative graphics and glue applications. Typical of today’s advanced technology, it features electronics developed and manufactured by Projecta, together with the new Sprinta operator interface that has been designed for maximum ease of use.

Ikon Plus is designed for tile sizes up to 723mm wide and offers capacity for up to 12 print bars. Ikon Plus’s high productivity and impressive proportion of 1st-grade material were crucial in persuading Porcelanosa to use this system. Gruppo B&T says that the machine provides intensity of colour and perfect precision both in decorative graphics, and that in applications depositing large amounts of adhesive and materials it is more versatile than the technologies deployed previously.

The long-standing partnership between Porcelanosa and Gruppo B&T demonstrates how a trusted collaboration can continuously evolve to meet the challenges of the global ceramic market. Partners since 1979, the two companies have achieved many major milestones together, such as the first fully automated storage and handling system supplied by SITI.
